International Women's Day 2023
WIN celebrates International Women's Day with about 30 women in the Ga South Municipal Assembly. They also learned how to make soap and pastries.
Orientation of 3% Common Fund for Persons with Disability Committee
The 3% District Assembly Common fund for PWDs Committee members are given an orientation on the new guidelines for managing and disbursing the fund.
21 WGDs have been given livelihood training
10 WGDs have been equipped with soap making traininin Shower gel making, shampoo making, bleach, liquid soap and bar soap making. Whiles 11 others were trained in pastry making. they made bread, meat-pie, buffed loafs and chips.
5 WGDs have been trained to engage in media advocacy for PWDs
5 WGDs comprising 3 physically challenged, one deaf and one blind woman were trained to advocate for the rights of persons with disability especially WGDs. The team visited Darling FM together with Mr. George Frimpong Former GFD president for Central Region to speak on disability rights and the equitable employment policy.
31 WGDs have been supported with Start-ups under the PERD project
Some received deep-freezers, fufu pounding machine, popcorn machine, items for salon, cylinder and oil, flour, baking sheets, items for tie and dye, oven and cylinder and others.
