Policy Concept

As a woman led, gender focused organisation, WIN seeks to promote women and girl-child rights through the Welfare Approach. In this wise, we focus on how women can ultimately benefit from programs that supports their needs and enhances their wellbeing such as giving them information, counselling and education on various topics such as general health & hygiene, nutrition and SRH issues, to better equip women to play their reproductive role.

We also utilise the Equity approach by focusing on building the self-esteem and confidence of our women and girl-child. Thus we seek to promote women’s status, power and control through the mobilisation of activities geared towards women’s rights promotion and advocacy. We also achieve this through community sensitisation and education on Affirmative action and training on leadership skills and life skills, to enable women and girls to take up leadership positions in their communities and nation.

WIN as an organization is committed to the economic empowerment of women as an effective tool for poverty alleviation. In this wise, we aim to increase women’s income-earning capacity, through income generating projects such as training in Entrepreneurial skills, skills training and financial literacy skills to ensure financial independence and self-reliance of women and girls.
